Wine, food and travel photographer based in Raleigh, North Carolina
Although I studied photography in high school and film production in college, the camera took a back seat to other creative pursuits for quite some time. I was unaware of it at the time, but my entry into the wine world in my mid-twenties would eventually pave the way for a return to photography.
After several years in wine wholesale and retail, travel to wine destinations became an important part of my education and growth in the business. Initially a simple point-and-shoot camera was adequate for capturing noteworthy moments in vineyards and cellars. However, I began to realize that photography was becoming my preferred way to connect with people, understand their craft, and ultimately experience (and sell) wine.
With fifteen years in the wine business I’ve been lucky enough to travel extensively, meet and work with amazing winemakers, chefs and other artisans. And, with a serious upgrade in camera gear, it has become my great passion to help tell their stories.
In late 2017, I made the transition to photography full time, working with wineries, importers, restaurants and more. My photography isn’t limited to wine and food, but it is most often fueled by those passions both at home and on the road.
